We can make leadpipes for any trumpet, but most of the time we replace original Bach leadpipes for our upgraded hand drawn parts. When doing this we always try to compliment the bell shape. A trumpet with a 37 style bell suddenly becomes more in tune and better slotting. A 43 or 72 bell style instrument gets fitted with another of our designs. These instruments really open up in the high register and become more responsive/agile with our dedicated parts. For trumpets with a different style bell we can do a fully custom design leadpipe. This procedure is a bit more costly because we have to calculate and produce a mandrel first.

Most players look for a new leadpipe to replace dezincificating (red rotting) parts. When the leadpipe starts falling apart usually there is also a problem in the tuning slide and sometimes also in the receiver and upper tuning slide sleeve. This is the ideal moment to replace it all for our parts. We usually use goldbrass or brass with a little more copper in the alloy to prolong the life of the new parts. We can recycle original water keys / finger hooks to keep the instrument looking original or we use our parts. It is important to note that we only offer our parts in combination with our fitting service to ensure that the upgrade has the maximum positive effect.

We also make custom leadpipes for exchangeable systems. For example, here on the right you see one original kromat C rotary leadpipe and two MG pipes. One for C and one Bb. We can do this for any brand/model with exchangeable leadpipes. We analyze the taper of the rest of the instrument and match the taper of the leadpipe. This generally results in a slightly smaller start of the instrument and a better connection to the valve section and the rest of the geometry of the instrument. The secret is a taper in the leadpipe that matches the bell geometry better than the original leadpipes. Instruments that really benefit from using our leadpipes are for example Scherzer, Vanlaar, Courtois, Yamaha, Schilke, Stomvi and Selmer.
